Where there's football, there will be gambling, according to research undertaken as part of this project.
It found that viewers in stadiums and on TV are bombarded with gambling adverts from all directions.
Three Premier League games in the last three weeks have been analysed - Liverpool vs Manchester City, Chelsea vs Manchester United and Everton vs Crystal Palace - with the latter seeing a gambling advert every one minute and 24 seconds during the game.
These were on the advertisement hoardings that go around the edge of the pitch, with adverts for Everton's betting partner SportPesa appearing 68 times in the 95 minute match.
On top of this, TV viewers were exposed to nine gambling adverts during the 27 minutes of advert breaks in the programme, an average of one every three minutes.
These statistics show just how normal it is to see gambling adverts around sporting events, where thousands of people, including children and those who may have previously suffered from gambling addictions, are forced to view them.
In the UK, casinos and bookmakers are banned from advertising on TV before the 9pm watershed, with the only exception being around sporting events.
This project will look at the problem, how we got to this point, and what is being done now.
